Strategic Decision-Making, Risk Management, and Implementation
This program integrates the analytical, financial, and organizational dimensions of strategy, guiding participants through how strategic alternatives are evaluated, risks are managed, and plans are effectively implemented. Participants learn to apply marginal and investment analysis to decisions such as adding or discontinuing products, allocating capital, or pursuing new initiatives. Emphasis is placed on both quantitative tools, such as NPV, IRR, and scenario planning, and qualitative factors like supplier reliability, workforce impact, and organizational learning. The program then explores enterprise risk management (ERM) and its integration with strategic planning, emphasizing how to identify, assess, and mitigate business, financial, operational, and strategic risks using frameworks such as COSO ERM. Participants also examine leadership, communication, and cultural alignment as critical drivers of strategy execution. By connecting strategic goals to financial forecasts, risk systems, and change management practices, participants develop the ability to craft decisions that are analytically sound, risk-aware, and organizationally sustainable.
Learning Objectives:
- Define key concepts in marginal analysis, risk management, and strategic implementation.
- Explain how financial, operational, and human factors influence strategic decision-making and risk outcomes.
- Use decision tools such as marginal analysis, discounted cash flow, and scenario planning to evaluate strategic alternatives.
- Assess organizational risks, leadership effectiveness, and alignment between tactics, strategy, and culture.
- Judge the effectiveness of enterprise risk management and communication systems in supporting strategic objectives.
- Design integrated strategic plans that align financial forecasts, leadership practices, and change management approaches to achieve long-term organizational success.
